Bridal Henna

Bridal henna can range from simple and elegant to simply extravagant.  Prices reflect the density and complexity of the chosen patterns.

For the "Less is More" bride, I charge $80 per hour.  This includes light-density patterns for both palms and tops of hands and tops of feet.  This rate also covers Sangeet / Night of Henna / Bridal shower guests.

For medium-to-heavy density work, I charge a flat rate of $250 to $350.   The complexity of dense henna patterns resemble lace gloves and stockings... very auspicious for this important occasion!

 Parties

For parties, I charge one of two ways~

  • $80 per hour and guests are hennaed without individual payments
                                 OR

  • $25 booking fee and I charge each guest separately per design they choose (most are between $5 and $15).  The booking fee may be applied toward the host/hostess' own henna should they want it.   As a special offer, the host/hostess receives their henna for free should one of their guests book a separate appointment with me during their party!
  • Black Henna Warning!

There is only one kind of henna, and when used for body art appears in a greenish paste and its stain on skin ranges in color from orange to reddish brown.  If you come across anything labeled henna that stains black immediately or claims the black stain will last 3 weeks or more, it may contain a harmful chemical called para-phenylenediamine, or PPD.  PPD is ILLEGAL to use on skin and can cause painful rashes, disfiguring scars, increased allergic reactions to safer black dyes (such as used to dye your clothes), to more serious conditions such as heart failure and life-long illness.

Most encounter "black henna" while on vacation in Mexico, California, Hawaii and other beach locations.  If you have had "black henna" applied in the past, DO NOT have it done again.  "Black henna" is a sensitizer, which means the more you are exposed to it, the more likely you are to have a severe allergic reaction to it.

So please be warned.  If it is not a greenish paste that stains reddish brown over time, then IT IS NOT HENNA!

I offer individual appointments in my home or yours.

I suggest I travel to your home for henna work on palms, feet, backs, and/or bellies.
